FAQs

What is coaching?

Coaching allows you to create a space for reflection. You'll have the opportunity to explore whether your thoughts and feelings align with your values, allowing you to begin to detach from life-limiting beliefs. Coaching empowers you to find solutions for creating a meaningful life. What would you like to change and work towards?

Is coaching different from therapy?

You can work with a coach and a therapist simultaneously, but coaching differs from therapy in that it focuses on your present and future. In therapy, you'll focus more on your past. In coaching, we will work on understanding how past experiences affect you today.

Why do I need a coach when I can use AI?

Great question, and honestly? Sometimes you don’t. AI can offer you thoughtful questions to explore. Sometimes that is good enough. Remember to ask it “What other questions could I be asking?” to help challenge any natural biases.

But, when we’re stuck, overwhelmed, or trying to make sense of what’s next, so much of our wisdom lives in our body and nervous system - in the way our shoulders tense when we talk about that job, in the way our breathing changes when we mention a relationship, in the slight shift in our posture when we’re avoiding something important.

AI responds to your words. I respond to all of you. I catch the moment your whole body relaxes when you talk about what truly matters to you. I see when you’re trying to convince yourself of something that doesn’t feel right in your body.

Your nervous system broadcasts what’s true for you before your mind even knows it. That’s information AI can’t access, but it’s exactly the information that helps you find your way forward.

How often would we meet?

We'll meet weekly online - initially for 8 - 12 weeks. After that, if you choose to continue, we'll decide on a time frame that is right for you.

How must does coaching cost?

Coaching is an investment in yourself now and for the future. You will have a clearer understanding of what helps you, and you will have tools that you can use forever. Change and feeling better are inevitable. The first step is to book a call to find out more.

Do you guarantee results?

This is an interesting question because I am not the one doing the work. What I can guarantee is that I will turn up and give 100% in the time we have together. I will share all that I know and keep you accountable. If you show up 100% and commit to making a change, you will notice a difference. What result would you like?

Do I still need therapy?

You might need therapy if you’ve experienced trauma you need to work through. That’s not what we’ll work on in coaching. We might acknowledge past pain to find a way to move past the stories you’ve been telling yourself. From there, we’ll focus on your vision for the future and help you get your mindset in the right place to achieve what you want. As your coach, I want you to see that your past is a part of you, not the whole you. Most importantly, you’ll overcome setbacks and start embracing your fullest life.

Hasn’t polyvagal theory been debunked?

Not at all!   It’s a framework that helps us notice how our body-brain connection shapes safety, social engagement, and resilience. Since Dr. Stephen Porges introduced it, researchers have both supported and critiqued its core ideas. Some experts question specific anatomical claims—like the uniqueness of myelinated vagal pathways in mammals—and caution against equating respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) with overall vagal function. Yet, many studies still suggest meaningful connections between vagal tone and emotional regulation. All scientists expect to be questioned and reviewed.

No one scientist has the answers. At the end of the day, your lived experience matters more than any device or debate. I prefer to use the more holistic neurophysiological approach in coaching rather than a biomedical approach.

Free practices - such as breathwork, grounding, mindful movement, and social engagement - can support your nervous system, regardless of whether every theoretical detail holds up. FDA-approved tools like VNS stimulators have their place as well.

Think of polyvagal theory as a road map rather than a prescription. How you use that roadmap is entirely up to you—trust your curiosity, experiment with what feels right, and let your own experience guide you toward safety, connection, and growth.
