My coaching style is straightforward and compassionate. I’ll challenge you to try on different life options and work with you to build the confidence to just go for it.
I’ve trained as a Wayfinder and Master Life Coach with Martha Beck Inc, and I understand that transformational change takes time. There are some tips and tools that help though!
As long as you’re honest with yourself and trust the process, you’ll gradually create a different approach to life.
I believe you can.
You already know what you need.
I’ll help you tap into your own wisdom
I’ve always found it frustrating to hear people say, “It’s always been done this way.” If I believed that, I wouldn’t be a Wayfinder coach today. Making change requires changing your mindset. I know I had to change mine.
I’ve run a sports news agency for over 25 years
I was always intrigued by the mental performance of sports professionals. Who made it big? Who didn’t? I learned it was about more than talent and fitness.
I discovered coaching is my “North Star”
When I re-read Martha Beck’s Finding Your North Star and realized I hadn’t quite found mine. I decided to complete Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach and Master Life Coach programmes.
More about my story
I learned how I want to help clients by supporting an ill family member
During my training, I had the experience of caring for a family member who was bedridden with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME) and POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). I learned firsthand how incredibly powerful the brain and body are in their efforts to keep us safe. Healing requires rewiring those neural pathways. It can be done. I have seen it done.
I help everyone create or successfully adapt to change. I believe we need to trust what our bodies are telling us, whether we want to push ourselves to excel or return to a mode of living we think we’ve lost for good.
I am certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I am also qualified to offer the Safe and Sound Protocol as well as the Drives Strengths assessment.
I work online from Cape Town South Africa.
Do you feel safe enough to be who you really are?
Alison was delightful to work with. I especially appreciated her knowledge of ME/CFS and how the nervous system might be related to that. I had a great experience working with Alison and discovered important things about myself.

“Weekly coaching with Alison has helped me with my preparation for training and for matches, and my confidence as a player has increased. Discussing the things that happen around me and how to react has been valuable. It helps me not be distracted by them and I can stick to my path or my goal. Having somebody you talk to regularly gives that accountability. Sometimes you forget something that you said, so having somebody who can remind you what you did then or that this situation has happened before, I think that makes a big difference.”

Thank you Alison for a professional and calm approach to my problems. It seemed to me that I was in a hopeless situation, but thanks to Alison I put all my emotions in order and learned that not always I need to be responsible for everything in everyone's lives. I highly recommend her!

I found it really easy to talk with Alison. She strikes a brilliant balance between allowing me to voice my thoughts and emotions, while steering the conversations in thought provoking directions. The SSP course has really helped me to become more aware of my nervous systems' abilities to self-regulate and co-regulate. Helping me better realise when things are bothering me, but i haven't consciously realised it yet. Its like my body was always sending me signals but i wasn't able to properly listen. SSP has allowed for more clarity and awareness, allowing me to better understand my nervous system and what i can offer myself to help heal and restore.

Ali has been invaluable in helping me navigate through many of life's turmoils and unpredictabilities. She's incredibly kind, caring, and patient, masterfully bringing my focus back from my rambling to what really matters, my own healing and wellbeing. Her ability to teach nervous system regulating tools, delve into past traumas, and facilitate the development of lasting metaphors is simply outstanding, and her presence in my life has helped me cope with some major life challenges. Thank you, Ali, for all that you do.
